Abruzzo

Abruzzo is a mountainous as well as coastal region residing east of Rome. The wines from this expansive region are often made from Montepulciano (red and rosé) or Trebbiano or Pecorino (white). While many wines are extremely affordable, a few esteemed producers have claimed their spot atop “the most coveted list” in Italy among connoisseurs. The most noteworthy appellations are Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC, Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC and Pecorino Abruzzo DOC.
